Six Inch Computer Controlled (GoTo) Schmidt-Cass Telescope (SCT)
The Celestron 6 SE is a current model computerized Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The 6 SE features a relatively long 1500mm focal length (f/10) and a total weight of 30 lbs including the tripod.
The Planetary Imaging Kit works well with this scope..Contact the Equipment Manager (equipment@seattleastro.com) if you whish to borrow this 6 SE telescope and the Planetary Imaging Kit at the same time.
Details
- 6" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
- Quick release fork arm mount, optical tube and accessory tray. No-tool setup. This telescope is relatively compact but note that there are no handles to assist wiith setup.
- Red dot reflex finder for alignment with bright stars at the beginning of an observing session.
- Computerized Altazimuth mount and tripod with Celestron NexStar goto/computer control.
- Internal battery compartment to prevent cord wrap during use
- Star diagonal provides a comfortable viewing position when observing objects that are high in the sky
- Alignment methods include traditional two star alignment and a SkyAlign procedure that allows you to align on any three bright celestial objects. Alignment is necessary for accurate computeri controled telescope operation.
