Overview

Update 28-Mar:  This month's Duvall Star Gaze is moved out one day to Saturday, March 29th for more favorable sky conditions.

This public star gaze event is authorized by the city of Duvall, Parks & Recreation Department and is free of charge.

Experienced astronomer volunteers from the Seattle Astronomical Society (SAS) bring their telescopes and binoculars to share with the public.  Everyone is welcome including families with children.  Feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars,

The facility lights will be turned off at 7:30pm. Field #2 (the middle field) will be used for public stargazing. Field #1 (the NE field farthest from the road) is reserved for astrophotograpers to set up their equipment to avoid confusion as to which telescopes are available for visual stargazing.

This month's star gaze will feature a Messier Marathon for those bringing telescopes to find and document at least 50 Messier objects to obtain a certificate of acheiverment from SAS.

Competition Log: Include your name, email, location, telescope description, and seeing conditions at the start of the logbook or document. For each successive object include the Messier number, coordinates (RA/Dec), date/time, and a description of what you see. Astrophotographers need to include an image with the description. Visual observers are encouraged to make a sketch.

Please note that no food or drink are allowed on the fields.
